Purpose of This Form

At Treehouse, we occasionally offer children the opportunity to interact with live animals as
part of our enrichment activities. These experiences may include supervised contact with
livestock (e.g., lambs, horses ), insects and bugs, and birds. Activities are designed to support
children’s learning, confidence, emotional wellbeing, and connection with the natural world.
We are committed to ensuring all interactions are safe, carefully managed, and appropriate for
each child. Please read the information below and provide consent where you feel
comfortable.


Types of Animal Interaction

Activities may include:
–  Livestock: e.g., lambs, horses or other farm animals
– Insects and Bugs: e.g., worms, beetles, caterpillars, stick insects
– Birds: e.g., chicks, small domestic birds, or supervised encounters with visiting
animals
All interactions will be:
– Fully supervised by trained staff
–  Risk assessed in advance
– Optional for each child — no child will be pressured to participate
– Conducted with strict hygiene procedures (handwashing before and after contact)


Health & Safety

We take the following precautions:
–  Thorough risk assessments for each activity
– Handwashing facilities and/or sanitiser available
– No food consumed during or immediately after animal handling
–  Children with allergies, phobias, or additional needs will be supported individually

– Animals will only be present if they are healthy, safe, and suitable for interaction

I understand that Treehouse staff will take all reasonable steps to ensure the safety and
wellbeing of children during animal interactions. I have had the opportunity to ask questions
and understand that I can withdraw consent at any time by informing staff.
